Plants and alcohol

Good morning and happy 1st of May to you too!

We had some really nice weather the last few days and it is amazing how my mood has switched to a chill-out mode. And in an attempt to stay in the sun as much as possible I have been doing some gardening, in our balcony! Plants seem to be doing well, especially our lavender, it is kicking ass! Unfortunately, my krasula plant might be facing life treating risks involving alcohol, we have to wait and see.

The story goes like this; mum comes around and apparently notices that the krasula plant is unwatered and droopy. Next thing off she goes, picks a full bottle of water from our kitchen and empties it on the plant, she is very happy to have quench its thirst! Great, only there was not water in the bottle, there was ouzo (raki to be exact)! By the time I see this is actually the time the last few drops are falling out of the bottle. And we have reached the no use crying over split milk (ouzo in our case) moment, when it is a bit late for much else to be done. We threw some water on it, in the hope of rinsing the excessive alcohol from the soil and pretty much let it be in its corner, stinking so much of alcohol (no wonder we had no mosquitos last night)! I still think it is a bit early to know if the plant will make it, so far it does not look any different so maybe there is hope that a bottle of ouzo might not be deadly for a small plant.

    1. Δεν είχα χώμα εκείνη τη στιγμή, και μετά σκέφτηκα πως ίσως τα καταφέρει μόνο του να ξεπεράσει την κατάσταση, ...θέλω να πιστεύω!
