Days of sunshine

Usually, every February and for about a week, give or take, the weather goes warmer and bright, like a preview of the spring to follow. A myth has it that gods (the 12 ancient ones) organized this so some birds called Alkyons, which lay their eggs at this time of the year, can go ahead and have their baby chicks in milder weather. If the weather carries on being like the last two days I am going to claim that we are running through this period. Yesterday, we went for a walk with a dear friend and her fluffiness Barbie the dog, to a small patch of forest at the top of the city. It feels so nice to be out and in the sunshine after so long. We think that even Barbie took notice, and she was lifting her face towards the sky squirting her eyes like the rest of us.

    1. Thanks Jen, I suppose it looks as pretty as any city photographed from a hill top in the sunshine, especially since we have not seen the sunshine for a while!

    1. Thanks Gumi, it is somewhere at the north of Greece (Thessaloniki). Unfortunately, the blue skies did not last too long here either, it is a bit warmer though so not complaining!
